Trans Mountain Corporation
The Trans Mountain Pipeline (TMPL) system is approximately 1,180 km long, commencing at a tank storage terminal in Edmonton, Alberta, and ending at the Westridge Marine Terminal in Burnaby, British Columbia. Kinder Morgan Canada Inc. (KMC) originally developed the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP) prior to its sale to Trans Mountain Corporation in 2018. UPI has provided routing studies, FEED, detailed design, and construction contract document preparation for the expanded pipeline system consisting of the reactivation of Line 1 pipeline of NPS 24 and NPS 30 pipeline segments and with a maximum sustainable capacity of 55,640 m3/d (350,000 bpd), and a new Line 2 pipeline of NPS 30 NPS 36 and NPS 42 pipeline segments with a maximum sustainable capacity of 85,850 m3/d (540,000 bpd).
UPI’s involvement in this project started in 2012 and it is currently still ongoing. UPI will continue to support the construction phase until completion of as-builts, projected to end in 2022.
